Paradise Swim Team Update
Dear PCC Swim Families,
We hope you and your family are safe and healthy during these times. COVID 19 has brought multiple changes and new regulations to our world. The Connecticut Summer Swim League (our summer swim league) has decided, in order to protect our swimmers, to cancel all swim competitions this summer. As our country is slowly returning to new ways of living and our quarantine is finally ending, we have decided to offer our athletes at Paradise the opportunity to get back into the pool.
The benefits of swimming go far beyond summer fun. Swimming shares many of the positive attributes of land-based exercises, as well as several other physical, mental and emotional benefits for kids. We need to continue cultivating our PCC swim family, creating summer memories and a strong group of awesome swimmers for next season.
Swimming is a longstanding tradition at Paradise, and we are excited to continue that tradition while adhering to CDC guidelines. We know swimming, like tennis, walking, hiking, running, and cycling, is a critical healthy activity within our community. Swimming does not require direct contact between teammates or coaches and social distancing can be maintained throughout practice. As with all exercise and activity at this time, swimming must comply with standards for social distancing and safety within aquatic facilities. Our 2020 swim clinic program is designed to continue the fun and excitement that we have always enjoyed at PCC. In addition to the specifics outlined below, clinic participants will engage in intra-club competitions with each other. We will train hard, improve skills and have fun.
Please feel free to contact either of us with any questions regarding the summer clinics. In addition, more information about Swim Lessons for beginning swimmers age 3+ will be coming soon. Looking forward to seeing all our swimmers on deck July 6th!
