Hello Paradise Members,
Many of you have expressed your dissatisfaction with WiFi availability (rightfully so)! I wanted to share with you what has been happening.
First, although it is not a complete solution, there IS service available! We have had Comcast installed at the Gate House and it does reach the picnic table area between the playground and the parking lot!
You can access this service one of two ways:
- There are two ParadiseCountryClub access points – ParadiseCountryClub-2.4 and ParadiseCountryClub-5 ParadiseCountryClub-2.4 is the stronger of the two points. The password for either is the Club phone number – 2032484075
- If you are a Comcast/Xfinity customer, you can use your Comcast email and password to access the Comcast hotspot.
If you have access to both, one may be faster than the other depending on how many people are using each at any given time. In the meantime, I am also working to find someone at Comcast interested in getting our other access points installed as promised. What was supposed to be 3-5 business days has turned into 6-7 weeks! Unfortunately, there is no other competitive option. Last year, we used AT&T which is now Frontier. The service was never adequate for the memberships’ needs and Frontier is harder to get information from than AT&T was.
I am also working on a different solution with a consulting company that may be able to provide service to the other areas of the Club using our existing service and additional hardware. As soon as I have more information on the installation needs and the cost, I will bring it to the Board for consideration.
Either way, once a solution is finally in place, it will be a permanent one. Service will be in place when you get here at the beginning of each season. There will be no down-time.
Please know that I am doing everything I can to get a solution as soon as possible. I will keep you updated on progress.
